JUAN MATA JOINS JAPANESE CLUB VISSEL KOBE

2023, SEPTEMBER 03 – Former Spanish midfielder Juan Mata has completed a move to Vissel Kobe on a free transfer, as confirmed by the Japanese club today.

Mata, who was part of Spain‘s victorious FIFA World Cup squad in South Africa back in 2010, has inked a deal with the team managed by Takayuki Yoshida. This transfer comes after his departure from Turkish side Galatasaray earlier in the summer.

Kobe currently occupies the second position in the J.League standings, trailing the leaders Yokohama F. Marinos by just one point. They are set to face Kyoto Sanga, and a victory in this match would propel them to the top spot.

Juan Mata had been without a club following his exit from Galatasaray and has now found a new home in Kobe. Prior to this move, he had stints with clubs like Valencia CF, Chelsea FC, and Manchester United FC. He will be donning the jersey number 64 at his new club.
