2026, MAY 25 – Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) midfielder Afiq Fazail has signed a two-year contract extension with the Malaysian champions.
The 30-year-old also reached another career milestone during JDT’s 2025/26 Malaysia Cup final victory over Kuching City FC, making his 272nd appearance for the club to become JDT’s all-time appearance holder.
Afiq surpassed former captain Safiq Rahim, who previously held the record with 270 appearances.
Since making his JDT debut in January 2017, Afiq has established himself as a key member of the Southern Tigers, playing an instrumental role in the club’s sustained domestic success.
He also became the first JDT player to feature in seven Malaysia Cup finals since joining the club in 2017.
