2022, DECEMBER 26 – As announced by Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore), 2022 AIA Singapore Premier League Player of the Year and the White Swan’s top scorer – Kodai Tanaka will be joining Lion City Sailors FC for the 2023 campaign.
Here’s his message to the fans as quoted from the club’s website:
“I decided to transfer to Lion City Sailors FC. I believe that my success over the past year was possible thanks to my teammates, staff, supporters, sponsors, and everyone else involved with Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore). I would like to take this opportunity to thank them.

From next year, a new challenge will start. I will become a player who can make my name known in the Asia and in the world. From now on, I will be your opponent, but I hope you will continue to support me. Thank you very much for your support over the past year.”
