SAFUWAN MAKES RETURN TO SELANGOR

2023, JULY 13 – Singaporean defender Safuwan Baharudin has returned to Selangor FC after leaving Negeri Sembilan FC at the end of his six-month contract. Despite his previous departure due to injury, Safuwan has now completed his transfer and will proudly don the Yellow and Red jersey once again.

Expressing his enthusiasm, the 31-year-old is eager to rejoin Selangor and make a valuable contribution to head coach Tan Cheng Hoe‘s team for the remaining matches of the Malaysia Super League season. Having previously spent three years with Selangor, Safuwan is confident that communication will not be a problem, given his familiarity with most of the players. He is determined to establish good chemistry with both the new foreign and local players in the squad.

Although there were rumours linking Safuwan to prominent Thai clubs like BG Pathum United FC and Nakhon Pathom United FC, he ultimately decided to return to Selangor. Safuwan explained that despite receiving multiple offers from the Thai League, he heeded the advice of his parents to stay in the Malaysia League for the rest of the season.

After initially joining Selangor in 2020 and subsequently moving to Negeri Sembilan after the 2022 season, Safuwan now aims to quickly develop a solid understanding with his new teammates as they prepare for their upcoming match.
