2024, OCTOBER 26 – Tonight, FC Barcelona will debut an extraordinary limited-edition jersey at the iconic El Clásico match against Real Madrid CF at Santiago Bernabéu, a result of an innovative collaboration with Spotify and legendary British band Coldplay. This unique jersey celebrates Coldplay’s latest album Moon Music, featuring a specially crafted logo inspired by the album’s themes and created by longtime fan and artist David Saldaña Palomares. A longtime Barça anthem since 2008, Coldplay’s Viva la Vida has bonded the band with fans in Catalonia and beyond, bringing a distinctive resonance to this collaboration.

With Coldplay’s Moon Music logo proudly emblazoned on the shirt, this moment brings together two powerhouse entities known for uniting fans worldwide through music and sport. Available at Barça Official Stores in Spain and online since October 18, this exclusive jersey run includes 1,899 jerseys priced at €399.99 each and a select set of 22 glow-in-the-dark versions, half signed by the men’s starting XI and half by the FC Barcelona Femení squad, priced at €2,999.99 each.

All net proceeds from the jersey sales will be donated to a joint UNHCR/ACNUR-Barça Foundation project, supporting refugees and displaced communities worldwide. This partnership, which began in 2022, extends Barça’s mission of raising awareness about the struggles faced by displaced people, making each purchase not only a tribute to fandom but a contribution to a meaningful cause.

This collaboration with Coldplay is the latest in a series of Spotify-sponsored jersey projects featuring other renowned artists like Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, and Karol G, with each collaboration creating a lasting connection between fans of both music and sport. To complement the release, Coldplay curated a Barça Matchday playlist featuring songs to motivate the team and fans alike.

The design process has been as meaningful as the cause it supports. Coldplay’s Moon Music logo on this jersey was inspired by Palomares’s original design, which the band discovered and felt deeply resonated with their album’s themes of love, unity, and empathy. For Palomares, seeing his artwork worn by one of the world’s most iconic teams is a moment of personal pride and artistic achievement.

To commemorate the historic El Clásico and this first-of-its-kind partnership, Spotify and Barça are also launching a Moon Music-inspired lifestyle collection, including T-shirts, hoodies, and scarves, blending Barça’s legendary colours with celestial elements from the album.
