2023, OCTOBER 13 – Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore) has established a collaborative partnership with K.M.S.K. Deinze, a team competing in Belgium’s second division. This strategic alliance with K.M.S.K. Deinze has opened doors for young talents to venture into European football and create an enhanced developmental environment. The inaugural participant to make this journey was Ilhan Fandi.
In line with their commitment to nurturing Singapore’s football talent, Albirex is introducing an innovative initiative called RISING STAR Singapore. This endeavour is designed to offer aspiring young Singaporean players the chance to test their abilities and set themselves new challenges.
The selection process spans three days, during which aspiring players can vie for spots on Albirex Niigata FC (S)’s COE U15 and U17 teams. Furthermore, through the collaborative efforts of Albirex and their partner, K.M.S.K. Deinze, a select group of exceptionally talented players (subject to approval) will be granted the unique opportunity to participate in a short-term football study program in Belgium in 2024. This visionary project by Albirex aims to facilitate the advancement of football in Singapore by providing a pathway for young, aspiring athletes who dream of pursuing professional football careers in their homeland while gaining invaluable experience in Europe.
The trials are scheduled at Jurong East Stadium on the following dates:
- 11 November, 2023: Preliminary selection (Day 1) [9am – 1pm, 3pm – 7pm]
- 12 November, 2023: Preliminary selection (Day 2) [9am – 1pm, 3pm – 7pm]
- 19 November, 2023: Final selection [9am – 1pm, 3pm – 7pm]
