SINGAPORE, 2024, SINGAPORE 27 – The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) officially unveiled the latest Singapore football kits today at Weston Corporation’s 313@Somerset store.
Players from both the Men’s and Women’s National Teams were present at the exclusive launch event to showcase their new kits. Also in attendance were winners of the #BeTheRoar Instagram contest, who earned special invitations to the event, giving them a first-hand look at the new designs. Among those modeling the new kits were Faris Ramli, Glenn Kweh, Ryhan Stewart, Farhanah Ruhaizat, Nurhidayu Naszri, and Women’s National Team captain, Rosnani Azman.
The Lions will debut their new jerseys during their training tour in Japan from 5-15 October 2024, where they will take on three top-tier J.League teams in preparation for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup (AMEC) 2024 in December.
Meanwhile, the Singapore Women’s National Team will be the first to wear the new kit in a competitive tournament at the ASEAN Women’s Championship 2025 Qualifiers in Laos this November.
Women’s National Team captain Rosnani expressed her excitement, stating, “It’s an honour to be the first team to wear this jersey at a tournament, symbolising our hard work and commitment. We’ll wear it with pride in Laos and aim to create lasting memories in this new kit.”
The 2024 home kit features Nike’s striking Challenge Red, reflecting Singapore’s resilient spirit, while Chlorine Blue side panels signify the nation’s relentless drive to make a global impact. The crescent moon and five stars from the Singapore flag are prominently displayed at the nape, evoking national pride each time the Lions and Lionesses stand for the Majulah Singapura.
Faris Ramli, winger for the Men’s National Team, said, “I’m eagerly anticipating hearing the National Anthem in our new jerseys at the AMEC. It’s a powerful reminder that we play for something greater than ourselves. We hope to inspire the nation and represent Singapore with everything we’ve got.”
The 2024 away kit embraces a modern design with a graphic inspired by Singapore’s evolving architectural landscape. With Chlorine Blue and Marina hues capturing the essence of the surrounding waters, it represents Singapore’s pursuit of excellence even in foreign stadiums.
Lions defender Ryhan Stewart added, “The National Team jersey is more than just a uniform – it’s a symbol of pride for all Singaporeans. It’s common now to see people wearing the Singapore jersey outside of football matches, whether at international events or even music festivals. With the bold new colours, I’m sure we’ll see even more of them.”
This marks the first time a Singapore kit launch has involved both players and fans. Alvin Tan was among the lucky few to try on the new jersey in August during a secret promotional shoot. This initiative is part of FAS’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with fans, which also includes an upcoming opportunity for fan groups to attend a Lions’ training session in October.
Alvin shared, “It was surreal to wear the jersey before any of the players. Wearing the Singapore shirt always fills me with pride, and it was great fun being part of this campaign. The toughest part was keeping it a secret!”
Fans can now purchase both the home and away jerseys at the FAS Store and all Weston outlets. Youth-sized jerseys will be available for the first time, exclusively at Weston. Adult jerseys are priced at S$115, while youth jerseys retail at S$89.
