EMRE CAN JOINS GERMANY’S EURO 2024 SQUAD AFTER PAVLOVIC WITHDRAWAL

2024, JUNE 13 – Emre Can has been added to Germany‘s UEFA EURO 2024 roster following Aleksandar Pavlovic‘s withdrawal due to tonsillitis.

Pavlovic, a 20-year-old midfielder from FC Bayern Munich, who has one senior cap for Germany, experienced a breakout season, making 22 appearances and scoring twice for the team he joined at age seven.

Borussia Dortmund’s Emre Can, aged 30 and with 43 caps for Germany, will take Pavlovic’s place. Can, formerly of Liverpool FC, started in 11 matches during Dortmund’s journey to this season’s UEFA Champions League final, including all seven knockout stage games.

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann’s squad will begin their campaign against Scotland on 14 June (15 June, 3:00am SGT), followed by Hungary on 19 June (20 June, 12:00am SGT), and concluding the group stage against Switzerland on 23 June (24 June, 3:00am SGT).

Fans can catch all UEFA EURO 2024 matches at Cafe Football Singapore‘s Woodleigh outlet, including the opening match between hosts Germany and Scotland. A minimum spend of S$30 per person is required.
