SINGAPORE NATIONAL TEAM BOLSTERS COACHING STAFF FOR UPCOMING MATCHES

2024, MARCH 11 – Singapore National Team‘s centralised training has begun as Head Coach Tsutomu Ogura bolstered his coaching staff with the addition of two key appointments: former Kashima Antlers assistant coach Kosei Nakamura and BG Tampines Rovers FC Head Coach Gavin Lee.

Nakamura brings a wealth of experience and a host of qualifications to his role as assistant coach. His credentials include the prestigious JFA A License earned in 2016, along with the AFC Fitness Coaching Certificate Course Level 2 acquired in 2022. Furthermore, Nakamura holds the Scottish Talent ID Level 2 certification and the UEFA C License obtained in 2022. His comprehensive coaching education also extends to the J.League Head of Coaching Diploma, reflecting his dedication to honing his expertise in football coaching.

Meanwhile, Gavin Lee’s accomplishments in the Singapore Premier League are noteworthy. As the youngest-ever head coach in league history at the age of 28, Lee led BG Tampines Rovers to consecutive second-place finishes and clinched the Singapore Cup in his debut season.

Together, Nakamura and Lee will play integral roles in guiding the national team as they prepare for the upcoming matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ joint qualifiers against China on 21 and 26 March.
