2024, AUGUST 17 – James Milner kicked off his record 23rd season in the Premier League on Saturday, starting for Brighton & Hove Albion FC in their match against Everton FC.
At 38 years old, Milner is seven years senior to Brighton’s current manager, Fabian Hürzeler.
His Premier League journey began in 2002 with Leeds United FC, and this season marks his second with Brighton. Milner made his 636th league appearance, just 17 shy of Gareth Barry’s all-time record of 653 appearances.
Over the course of his career, he has also played for Newcastle United FC, Aston Villa FC, Manchester City FC, and Liverpool FC.
Previously, Milner shared the record for most Premier League seasons (22) with Manchester United FC legend Ryan Giggs.
