2021, JANUARY 15 – Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) have launched the club’s new Medical & Fitness Centre at the JDT Training Centre at Padang Seri Gelam today.
The Medical & Fitness Centre, which was launched virtually via a video reveal of the facility, is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and will be staffed with full-time doctors and physiotherapists.
JDT are proving to be the leading football destination in the region in terms of infrastructure, on field success, innovation, branding and development.
Already equipped with the best facilities, the Southern Tigers’ latest infrastructure expansion sees new equipment and expertise available to ensure players are at optimum levels.
“We want to provide excellent facilities for the players in order to bring out the best of each player, and this includes rehabilitation and recovery,” said JDT owner HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor.
“JDT are a club that aspires to continuously set the benchmark and raise standards… Not just domestically, but internationally too. Our facilities and success will continue to cultivate the profile of JDT and the benefits are for years to come.”
The Medical & Fitness Centre, which includes a juice bar for healthy drinks and snacks, features two new Infrared Sauna machines, Functional Trainers, Smith Machines and medical equipment such as an Echocardiogram machine and a device for Hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma therapy.
The new centre also includes an indoor running surface made out of high-density polyethylene and padded with rubber to reduce impact on the joints.
This is in addition to the Oxygen & Hydrogen Therapy machines and various gym and medical equipment purchased in previous years.
