2024, JUNE 14 – FC Bayern Munich have signed 25-year-old Japan international defender Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart on a four-year contract, the German club announced on Thursday.
Ito made 26 appearances for Stuttgart this season, contributing to the club’s second-place finish behind champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Additionally, the versatile left back, who can also play centrally, played a key role in helping Japan reach the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup earlier this year.
Ito may compete for the left back position with Alphonso Davies, though the Canada international, who has one year remaining on his contract, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid CF.
